![]() As the machine gets hotter, it slows down processing (both graphics and standard) to try and stay cool. Laptops are generally crap at dissipating heat. Your issue is likely the same as mine - heat. Given that it's sold as a gaming laptop, I assume it has a GPU. The speed boost alone for read/write is well worth it imo. Alternatively, regularly restart the computer, which clears the ram.įrom a standard SSD (and with otherwise quite average spec) my desktop boots in 14 seconds. Disable fast start, otherwise shutting it down will still write some data to disk, meaning the ram isn't fully wiped because it restores that data to ram when you start it again. This is identical to pressing the shutdown button * as standard in Windows 10/11 installs, because fast start is enabled by default. The OS limits the processor, meaning you get less performance, but the battery lasts longer. The clock speed stays the same and the battery dies "faster". Meaning you unplug it and one of two things happens. Very low cpu clock while not plugged in ( from ~3.8GHz down to ~2.2GHz)įrom this I'm assuming it's a laptop.
